Planting Events

Tree planting season runs from October to April every year while the roots of trees are dormant. We host small, medium and large planting events at public and private sites across Davidson County. Volunteers register to plant with us through the Hands On Nashville portal. Click here to view upcoming tree planting volunteer opportunities.

Schools and Parks Planting Events

Every year NTF plants hundreds of trees in public spaces, and they are some of the most important areas we plant. Improved student concentration, improved cognition in the elderly and decreased symptoms of depression and anxiety are a few of the many benefits that access to green spaces brings to our community.

releafing day

Taking place every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, ReLeafing Day is our largest one-day tree planting event. In addition to planting trees at schools that day, our volunteers also plant up to 100 trees in the front yards of private homes. The neighborhood trees are provided free of charge by our partners at Nashville Electric Service, to homes with a primary powerline in the lawn.
